“Before Your Eyes” is an immersive first-person narrative game that takes you on a soul’s journey into the afterlife. The game starts with your death and introduces you to a mythical Ferryman, whose job is to guide souls to the afterlife. But before he can do that, he needs to understand your life story. He sends you back to experience your life’s key moments once again.

What sets this game apart is its unique interaction method – your real-life blinks. Using your webcam, the game lets you control the narrative with your eyes. You’ll blink through cherished memories of family, first love, and the growth of an artistic career. However, the Ferryman will soon realize you’re holding back. He will push you to explore your most suppressed memories, revealing a heart-wrenching truth.

“Before Your Eyes” combines this innovative blink interaction with a captivating world and a fully voice-acted story. It’s a deeply emotional and relatable journey about the high standards we set for ourselves and the regrets we carry. An earlier version of the game, known as “Close Your,” won the Game Developers Choice award at Indiecade and the Student Award at the Independent Game Awards (IGF). It was later funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign.
