Experience the thrill of the 19th-century American Civil War with the game “Strategic Command: American Civil War”. This is the first time in the history of the Strategic Command series that players are transported to the battlefields of this era. This is a turn-based strategy game where you can control either the Union or the Confederacy. You will be in charge of the armies, research, production, and diplomatic policy during this pivotal period in American history.

The game features an expansive 66,000 hex map, the largest ever in the series, covering all of North America from Canada and New Mexico to the Caribbean. The scale is a detailed 15km/9mi. At the start of the game in 1861, you will have few professional soldiers at your disposal. Your task will be to build an army by organizing thousands of volunteers into Brigades, Divisions, and eventually Corps.

Research is a key element of the game, allowing you to improve your troops’ weaponry and fighting skills. Once your soldiers are trained, you can assign famous Generals like Lee, Jackson, Grant, McClellan, Beauregard, and Sherman to lead them. The outcome of the entire war could hinge on your choice of General.

The game also introduces river warships, allowing you to navigate the great rivers of North America, including the Mississippi, Ohio, and Cumberland. These rivers and their inland ports provide opportunities for rapid movement and the threat of amphibious attacks. The naval warfare aspect of the game has been expanded, with a diverse roster of rivercraft, coastal and sea-going vessels, and wooden and ironclad construction. This gives your admirals more opportunities to achieve victory at sea.
